How do I change a passenger's name or correct a spelling mistake?

Whether you’ve just tied the knot (congrats! 🥂), someone can't make the jolly, or your finger slipped on the keyboard, getting names right is top of our list for a stress-free trip.

Things you DON'T need to change ✅

Don't sweat the small stuff! You don't usually need to contact us or pay a fee for:

  • Middle names: These aren't required for your booking.

  • Capital letters: These don't matter to the airline or hotel systems.

  • Titles: (Mr, Mrs, Miss, etc.) These won't impact your ability to fly.


Changing a Lead Passenger Name 👤

If you need to update the Lead Passenger (the person who made the booking), you can submit a request through your account as long as you are more than 7 days from departure 🗓️ 

  1. Log into My Bookings and find your holiday.

  2. Hit 'View and Manage Booking' and go to 'Make Changes'.

  3. Select 'Passenger Changes' and follow the steps.

  4. Check the cost: You’ll see the breakdown of fees (our admin fee + any airline charges) before you commit.


Changing a Non-Lead Passenger Name 🧑‍🤝‍🧑

If you need to update a name for anyone else on the booking, you'll need to reach out to the travel providers directly.

For the Hotel: 🏨 The hotel usually only requires the Lead Passenger’s name on the booking. However, if you'd like to update the name of a non-lead passenger for your own peace of mind, you’ll need to contact the hotel directly.

  • Grab the hotel's name from your paperwork and find their contact details with a quick Google search. 🔍

  • Drop them an email or give them a ring to update their records!

For the Flights: ✈️

  • Low-Cost Airlines (e.g., Ryanair, Jet2, easyJet): You can manage these yourself! Simply log in to the airline's website using the flight info found in your My Bookings account.

    • easyJet Tip: 🧡 If the flight was booked by us, you'll need to call or Live Chat with easyJet directly to make changes. When they ask for the email address linked to the booking, make sure to give them lowcost@onthebeach.co.uk.

  • Scheduled Airlines & SunExpress: You won't be able to change these directly. Drop us a message via Live Chat (if you're more than 7 days from travel) and we’ll help.

For Transfers: 🚌 Good news! Transfers usually only need the Lead Passenger’s name. As long as they are still heading on holiday, you’re all set.


Insurance Updates 🛡️

  • Typos/Spelling Mistakes: Contact Rock Insurance directly to fix minor errors. You’ll find their contact info on your policy document. 📄

  • Full Name Swaps: Just a heads-up—insurance policies are non-transferable. If a new person is taking the spot on the holiday, they will need to purchase a brand-new policy. 💸


The Costs 💰

While we keep our fees low, airlines usually charge for name amendments.

  • OTB Admin Fee: £30 per person (if you're more than 60 days from travel) or £45 per person (within 60 days). Note: This only applies to changes we process for you.

  • Supplier Fees: The airline will charge their own fee on top of this.
