Nobody wants rain on their parade, especially on holiday! If you’ve bagged an eligible trip with us, we’ve got your back if the clouds open up with our free Weather Protection perk. Here’s what you need to know.
What is this Weather Protection all about?
It means that if it rains during your jolly, we’ve got you covered! You can get up to £300 back if it rains for 2 days or more during your holiday.
T&Cs apply, so make sure you check em!
How do I know if I qualify?
You’re eligible if your booking was made:
⭐⭐⭐ For a 3-star holiday.
🌃 For 7 nights or more.
📅 By 31st August 2026.
🕒 At least 60 days before you jet off.
👥 For 6 people or less.
✈️ And you’re departing before 31st December 2026.
Claiming Your Perk
If you qualify, claiming is super simple in the On the Beach app:
1️⃣ Head to the Your Perks section (under Bookings).
2️⃣ Claim your Weather Protection perk!
Important Dates to Remember:
⚠️ You must claim the perk within 10 days of your booking date.
📩 You should receive your policy email with all the details 14 days before your departure. If it hasn't arrived by then, please contact onthebeach@wetterheld.com.
Define ‘Rain’?
We cover a few different kinds of falling precipitation:
- Drizzle
- Rain
- Freezing rain
- Freezing drizzle
- Snow and Snow grains
- Ice needles, diamond dust, or polar snow
- Ice crystals
- Frost hail and Hail
When does it count?
You are covered if there is more than 2.9 mm of rain between 10 am and 6 pm (local time) where your accommodation is located, on 2 days or more of your holiday.
☂️ In layman's terms, this amount occurs with light rain for 90 minutes, moderate rain for 20 to 90 minutes, or heavy rain for 8 to 14 minutes.
How much money will I receive if it rains?
The payout amount depends on the number of rainy days:

Getting Your Payout:
- You’ll be notified via email if you’re due a payout.
- You can request your compensation immediately if the contractual rainfall limit has been reached.
- You'll need to provide your bank sort code and account number.
- Payment will be transferred to your account within 2 business days.
- To check if you are entitled to a payment, refer to the email received after claiming the perk and follow the links. An email will also be sent at the end of your holiday.

My booking's changed! Am I still covered?
It depends on when you made the change...

| Your flight/hotel is changed by the AIRLINE OR HOTEL (outside your control) and you still qualify for the perk. | We will automatically update your weather protection to reflect the new details. |
