Will I need a visa to travel to the EU after Brexit, and how do I apply?

If you're planning on travelling to somewhere in the EU from November 2023 onwards, even if you're booking your holiday in advance, you'll need to make sure you're up-to-date with the below applications.

At the moment, you don't need to pay an additional EU entry fee, but from November 2023 you will need to apply for an ETIAS visa waiver if you're planning on jetting off to anywhere in Europe. This isn't a visa, but rather an electronic travel permit to help improve security.

You'll be able to register with ETIAS from November 2023, and the process is super simple. You'll just need to fill out this short ETIAS application form which shouldn't take longer than 10 minutes, and in most cases this will be approved quickly. You might just need to pay a small fee to process the application.

Once you've got your ETIAS visa waiver, this will be valid for 3 years, and you'll be able to travel as many times as you like during that 3-year period. After that, you'll need to renew your visa waiver.
