My passport is due to expire soon - can I still travel?

Knowing whether or not your passport is suitable for travel can be daunting, but don't worry. All you need to know is that you'll need a valid passport for travel, and lots of destinations will require you to have between 3 and 6 months validity.

We recommend checking the passport requirements for your specific destination to make sure you're all set. You can view this on the GOV.UK website here

Since the UK left the European Union, the rules for anyone travelling to Europe from the UK have changed to the following:

  • Your passport must have been issued within the last 10 years.
  • Your passport must have at least 3 months of validity on it after the date you intend to leave the country you're visiting.

It's worth keeping in mind that passport renewals are taking a little longer than usual while holiday demand is at an all-time high. To avoid any mishaps, we recommend checking your passport and starting the renewal process well in advance of your holiday, just to be safe. We really want to get you to that beach.
